SKU: AP-D409
Rack-mount 16 zone speaker selector with four priority levels, cascading up to eight units to route amplifier output across a large distributed speaker system.
The AP-D409 sits between the amplifiers and the speaker lines, deciding which zones receive audio at any moment. Sixteen zones are switched at the unit, and eight units cascade where a site has more speaker lines than one selector covers.
Four priority levels order competing sources, so an emergency feed displaces paging and paging displaces background music without manual intervention.
Separating zone selection from amplification is what allows a single amplifier to serve many areas — the reason distributed 100V systems remain the standard approach in commercial buildings.
It pairs with the AP-D407 paging selector and AP-D408 remote station to form a complete zoned paging system.
