The AP-C56FS is a certified voice evacuation speaker, compliant with EN54-24 and BS5839 — the standards a life safety system has to meet, and the reason a general purpose ceiling speaker cannot be substituted in an evacuation circuit.
A full metal enclosure with metal fire dome back cover maintains the ceiling's fire integrity and keeps the speaker working for the period the standard requires, while also improving music reproduction as a side benefit.
The 5-inch full-range driver covers 130Hz-15kHz at 90dB sensitivity with maximum output to 98dB, so the same speaker handles background music and announcements between emergencies.
Taps are 6W, 3W and 1.5W on 70V or 100V line, with spring clip mounting into the ceiling. The 180mm diameter x 135mm unit weighs under 1.5kg and is available in red or white RAL 9016.
